Fade far sight

<div class="IPBDescription">Viv la Joanna dark</div>So fade is lacking ranged attacks, right now he's the mid game kharaa. That is all melee, apart from his crowde control. He is all skill based, right down to his frail system of micro managing his adrenaline. A tiny to much adrenalin used and he's stuck in a room shot gun feed. 50 Rez fade gone. The marines to achieve this don't need to leave their based. With them having all the viable range can sit back and turtle.

I'd like to see the fade get some form of ranged attack back. We can go the NS 1 rougte and bring back the fade rocket. Which was about a rocket every half a second. The rocket fired strait. And did aoe damage that did low damage. But to every thing around it. Marines and their structures. With the newer engines and more things possible. The fade has developed a dimensional ability or two were he can cross back and fourth or open a door way to temporarily imprison marines and their structures out of phase of shift from the natural realm of things. Making them void for the time being. But to use it is still high Rick. It's crowde control. And doesn't give the marines any reason to not stand still or stay in the one spot. So I am suggesting a weapon similar to the far sight from perfect dark. It's a gun that allows you to zoom and look through walls. Then snipe your enemy.

Seeing as NS doesn't have positional damage. Like head shots leg shots. Which vary the overall damage. It's safe to assume this gun would require a bit more thinking. The theory is it has a range limit. You can only see through one wall. Or two. Depending how close you are. Which means the fade is some were around that corner over there still with in reach. But you gotta go get him. To stop him. When activated the fades vision goes blurry like looking through a sniper scoop. The black of the vison or scope moves with mouse movement and fade movement. so it takes the fade being near skill or a fair amount of skill to one shot one kill. No jump quick scoping exploits. The vex from the edge of the screen would go from normal vision to blurry we it crosses the dimension like a rippling worm hole. The vison from there would be like alien flash light but in the other dimension. As it appears through walls. As the fade zeros in on a kill. Not so much auto aiming but a red through orange to green kill recital lock. The marine could see a tiny vortex start to open in front of him. A sign that a fade is locking him. A sign to start running, to report it. His unit of blood thirsty marines in the third person would see a vortex open in front of the marine at head high and form a gauss like vortex spike churning.

Once green the fade can fire. Perhaps make it from green to red red is the kill shot. Either way. A fade spike rips through the vortex infornt of the fade. And comes out the other side impaling into the marines head. It would be a instant shot. The result would kill most marines. Maybe not a full health 3/3 nano sheilded marine. But it would certainly put him on one hp no armor. And it would of avoided the nano shield as it would of spawned inside the shield. The perks of dimensional crossing. The cons mouse sensitivity is way down. Can't be moving. Venerable

This would consume 100% of the fades energy or near to 90%, down time and risk. Risk that his friends don't come around the corner and shoot you while you have no energy. Sitting on a mc or two. Would increase the energy regen rate and the time it takes to grow back said spike for another shot. As would having a onos primal scream near by.

I see this as a viable option. It gives the fade range. It keeps with his dimensional abilitys it forces the marine to not turtle. It still keeps him high risk but is at the high risk for rines also as fade could have skulks in ambush waiting. But it isn't a I win button that can't be countered by nano shield med pack armory humping. After the fact. If your upgraded full health, full armor 3/3. You get a second chance. You still have to leave base to find fade and kill him. He's just around that corner. Honest.

This would be so frustrating as a marine I would probably quit NS2 if it was implemented.

i played perfect dark which had a weapon like this, and it was horriffic to play against, wall hacking AND shooting you through walls, no chance to retaliate, no way of knowing where they are, no way to get to them even if you do know where they are, endless camping in difficult to reach spots.

    Not fun at all.
