Seriously guys.
Anyone else getting annoyed by the cluster of redundant information popping up in their Hud, mainly for marines?
I don't need a giant bold text box saying COMMAND CHAIR floating on the command chair for me to recognize what that is.
There are three, I count, three ways of seeing how built a building is while constructing, you have a giant HP bar ring on the ground, you have a giant HP % on the building itself, and you have the HP % on the weapon itself. We only need one guys.
NS2 was doing so well when it was about a minimalistic HUD, I feel that entire concept has been thrown out the window for more text, and text on text to tell you the same thing over and over and over.

Totally agree with you about the minimalistic HUD. I thought the game looked absolutely fantastic when all I had on my screen was an HP bar and an Armor bar in the bottom. Not to be rude to the dev's or UI artists but some people really just like minimalist UIs and would like options for it... as opposed to stuff like this (not to say that NS2 is quite that bad, but you get the idea).
The progress has been fantastic but it is little things like this that just spoil it for me, like too much salt on a perfect steak.
Would like options to disable automatic waypoints and the big banner messages showing information a commander should probably be commenting on if it impacts the game at all.
It is stupid, but different bits saying the same thing are really important for new players. Plus they do have different purposes - the one on the gun is for immersion to "make sense in the game world"; the giant one on the structure because this is the most obvious place to have it (and someone not building can see how far it is built); and the large health icon is a graphical (notice visual vs. mathematical) display which will stay after being built to display health from a glance across the room.
Repetition, Repetition, Repetition!
An option would be nice.. but I doubt its high on their priority list.
You guys are experiencing the redundancy because the game is still in beta and doesn't have that option to remove it yet. All we need is a "Hint/Tooltip disable" in the options and we're good.
Just like most RTS games have ways to reduce the information/tooltips I'm hoping NS2 will also.
