Input opinions for Mapping.

So I've been playing with the map editor for a couple weeks now. I finally have some freetime in my life for a new hobby and have been really enjoying the building process.

Currently I'm just sitting with a mouse/keyboard. At times it feels inefficient or clunky to be using such an input method.

I want to know if any of you have any suggestions on touch pads/ canvas pens/ and various other inputs that might work better for mapping? I'm not looking to drop a fortune on this, but I'd love to hear you're opinions and maybe grab something on Ebay to see how it feels.

On a side note: I want this: <a href="http://www.leapmotion.com/" target="_blank">http://www.leapmotion.com/</a>

How would you right-click look with that leapmotion thing?

I just tried to use the editor with my pen tablet, and it was surprisingly responsive. As long as I didn't go into a very fine grid, I was able to move things around quite fluently. My main problem though was when I tried to use the right-click look with the tablet. The camera went spinning out of control due to the way tablets work. If you ever tried a tablet in a FPS, you'll know what I mean.

Keyboard and mouse has pretty much unmatched precision, it really is the standard input for good reason. I use a wacom tablet regularly for photoshop but wouldn't even consider using it for mapping.

See I saw one of those Wacom products for real cheap somewhere recently, but just felt like I would consistently need to go back to the mouse to get the results I wanted.

I had used a variety of different tools when I had access to a studio, but never used them because I am more fluent in mouse/keyboard. I see artists in a variety of fields swear by them and I didn't know if maybe it's just a learning curve thing, but ultimately it would be beneficial.

Pen tablets are invaluable when used for painting or sketching but mouse + keyboard is still the best interface for the editor, particularly for moving around the 3D view.
