Gorge's infesta.. I mean, heal spray

One of my favourite ways to directly assist the commander in builds gone by was to run to resource nodes and drop a mini cyst on it. This was before cysts had to be connected to the chain, and would spread infestation regardless. This meant that the comm could drop the resource tower, and postpone connecting the area to the main chain, allowing resources to begin flowing sooner. While I enjoyed doing this, I will not deny that the mini cyst mechanic was far too clunky and confusing, and I am glad its gone.
So this got me thinking, why does infestation only come from cysts? I understand that it would need a life source to sustain it, but to only be able to originate from a cyst or hive seems very rigid.
And this chain of thought brings me to my suggestion: Have the gorge literally spray infestation when he uses heal spray.
It makes perfect sense to me that, if the skulk regenerates health when on infestation, and heal spray regenerates health, then they must be connected in some way, right? Just as the nanites flow in the marine team, the infestationites flow on the alien team! So, if a gorge was to heal spray directly onto a floor or wall, a patch of infestation would grow there.
The patch of infestation would start as nothing, and grow to its final size (I don't know what that would be) during the course of the gorges heal spray animation. After 5-10 seconds, the patch of infestation would begin to decay, as it has no source of life keeping it alive, and it would begin to recede to the geometric centre of the patch. If the gorge heal sprayed the patch, it would reset the timer. The gorge would also be able to expand the infestation by spraying along the edges of the patch. This would shift the geometric centre, and during decay, the edges would recede at a speed directly proportional to their distance from the geometric centre. I think it would also be a good idea if the decay process accelerated as the gorge moved further away from the infestation patch, encouraging cultivation.
I think this would aid in the gorge becoming a "combat engineer" by linking his presence to dynamic and swift infestation generation for the commander to utilise. Imagine a whip rush that is accomplished not by spamming thousands of cysts into the marine base, but by escorting and defending 2 gorges who prepare and maintain infestation patches for the whips to deploy on. I think this would also allow the ability to build hydras off infestation to be removed, as I don't think it fits well with the alien theme. If a gorge wished to build hydras at an unconnected location, he could place some infestation on the ground and do so. However, a gorge would not simply be able to have random hydras at strange, uninfested locations, unless he is actively cultivating the area.

However, I do support the no-DI change for Hydras because of the increased potential for trap-making, but that is for another thread :)
After some minutes of vomiting green, brown and yellow things on the ground you could get sick!
So you spit on the floor or wall, then healspray the decal and it would expand to cover an area? I like it.. but I wouldn't want to sit there all day and keep the infestation up. Any plans on how to keep the patch there?
