Increased performance will make it harder for Skulks, Lerks and Fades, but Marines can already fight off Skulks and Lerks. I feel that early games are quite balanced. Fades might be affected though and that will, of course, benefit Marines. As for tech explosions and Onos (the really big problem), improved performance isn't going to make any difference.

Attack commands can be made as a group as well as move commands. UI is bad but you can use that to alleviate some stress. You can also designate hotkey groups or even individual units by pressing ctrl + 1 to ctrl + 5 and then using 1-5 to select their associated groups. You can't rebind it as far as I know. The initial hive defaults to 1, as well as the comm chair for marines.
