For example, I've had a ninja PG up in the area west of Cavern in a pub match for over 10min before. Does that mean that PG placement was OP? No, its just that the alien team was just that bad. In general, I see this as an effective pub tactic mostly because new players can't resist the urge to suicide into a marine position close to a hive. An alien team with a few decent players will quickly realize that instead of suiciding into the PG outpost, they should attack either a) the undefended rest of the map or b) the marine base to get them to be more defensive.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I would say the strat is tough to handle but can be countered. Like you say its either muscle the pg down or take out base power. I would like to see it done in a competitive scene, good teams on each side would make that really entertaining to watch. Today I went something like 3/2 or 3/3 (W/L) against Maximum running this strat. If the marines stay on top of things they can seriously overwhelm aliens. If the aliens keep cool head and pick their lifeforms wisely they can take out all of the rez nodes, pg, and leave the marines seriously broken. I like it though, good fun. It's definitely an all-or-nothing type of strat that takes balls.
