Somebody needs to make a towerdefence mod for ns2... so ppl that want to chill out behind frontlines building pretty defences can get on their costs a bit more there.

They nerfed the total, they nerfed the placement, and they nerfed how they damage enemies
Gorge numbers plummeted in pubs
Usually after I get up a few nodes at the start of the game I just suicide as gorge which makes my hydras disappear
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the total doesn't matter unless you are turtleing which is nothing people are going to vote for after the ARC nerf

Because he is constantly dropping down the tone in the forum? Why do so many of the so called "valued players" have manners like little kids? This is really annoying me lately.
On the topic: Increasing the hydra cap with augmentation, would make this upgrade even more important as it is now. And it has enough benefits right now. But giving 1 hydra per additional hive more, should be balanced. This will make the gorge stronger with more map control, but does not overpower him or allowing him to block more than one way.

Yeah I love Gorge, but 3 is just pathetic. You need six to kill a marine quick enough before he kills you, and thats assuming you put all your Hydras in one place.
Also need longer range for destroying hydras... I keep reaching my max, then finding I cannot destroy them since they are up a wall too far.

Not only is there a limit, but the fact that you have to manually go back and dismantle old hydras is even more stupid, clunky, and annoying. One nerf (hydras limited to 3), should have been enough. Then hydra accuracy gets nerfed, and gorge spit gets nerfed.
I imagine that if you want a combat engineer, and if shooting static structures is boring (it is), then gorge spit should remain strong; it should be less about spamming hydras, and placing good ones quickly, perhaps assisted by the khammander, and pushing forward taking risks.
If massing gorges and spamming hydras dominates tier 1, then a tier 1 anti-structure weapon should exist for marines (i.e. bring back hand grenades, or mines explode on structures like satchels, etc).
Agree 3 hydras just isn't enough i think the limit should be 5-6 or have it cost pres again. Also i think it would be cool if gorges could build 1 whip after augmentation to protect their hydra garden from instant GL death.
The gorge should just revolve less around hydras in the first place IMO, and they need to come up with a way to allow hydras to be proper defensive structures without them being spammable (some sort of cooldown?) and imbalanced on 10 p.res gorges (augmentation tech to boost their defensive capabilities + duration increase after gorge dies?).
