ARCs not powered?

Sorry if this has come up before, the search function won't allow "ARC".

ARCs are essentially structures when they are deployed (siege cannons), why do they work in areas with no power node?

Because arcs have an internal power source. They don't magically move without electricity.

Why does you Car drive without 300km of cable?
Or why do all the Marine Guns work (the are electrical)?

They work in all areas, but do note that onoses can temporarily disable them with stomp and that their is a bug where if the ARCs lose sight of its target while in the firing animation, it will not fire at the end of the animation (the easiest way to prevent this is to overlap scans such that the target doesn't stop getting scanned).

    Sorry...

I just assumed there was a difference between powering a few small wheels and summoning a blast of super sonic energy through walls into alien structures.

I'm one to argue that we have fusion power considering we have an omnitool that builds anything.
