<div class="IPBDescription">to deaf marines ears for a short time</div>ns1 has proven that sound is a very important component of gameplay. especially for the marines. not hearing a thing makes them half-blinded. and its not much diffrent @ns2.
so i just thought it could be a cool features if hives (or another alien struc, maybe a lifeform?) had the ability to make nearby marines deaf <u>for a few seconds</u> (just hearing a loud "beeeeeeeeeeeeeep" meanwhile)
while the affected marines cant hear a thing, the aliens stand a good chance to ambush them or sneak away

But will the aliens still have a 70% win rate against the bots, or will it be fair?
And removing the sounds in NS2 isn't very nice, because the sounds are to important. Silence provides also something similar.
If they're deafened only for 2 seconds while the lerk cries, but there's an after effect, like energy regeneration for aliens, that would be cool.
a highpitch noise with very dampened surrounding sounds(with a small delay i think)
now that you mention it, every shooter has this, its a cool effect, ns2 should have it too.
