Why can't the dark be darker?

i think everyone is probably in agreement that and unsocked power node shouldnt be as bright as when the node is complete...
I know it's pretty much only at the start of the game I just wondered if anyone knows if this little .. peeve.. will be changed?
I'm just wondering.

    This has been suggested before and I tend to agree to see a bit dimmer lighting in unsocketed powernode areas. However this is not really a priority though :P

    There is a lot of grey, low contrast in NS2 you really notice it in 'dark' areas, and also when flashlights are on.

    Someone shining a flashlight from behind you actually makes it harder for you to see in the dark - something that needs to be fixed.

    I think they should make all unsocketed nodes destroyed sockets by default instead to be honest (i.e standard red lightning) Would boost immersion and general atmosphere to be honest. (Having your starting hive room with unsocketed light is just kind of meh)

    i think the same all powernodes should be socket and aliens could use them tactical.
    so aliens could create a tactic like hit all powernodes down to 1% and if marines build there (and don't research/buy welder) they can kill the PN.
