Lag treatment

Since the hit reg was "fixed" i feel that the game treats ping completely differently.
I play with a 150~ ping. I didnt have any complaints, understanding the nature of my ping. Since the hit reg was "fixed" though, it seems that lag is being treated completely differently. The game feels very weird now, it feels as if i'm playing at a 230+ ping (comparing to other fps multiplayer games). I mean, i wouldn't mind so much if i wouldn't get hit marks on the enemy when in fact i didn't hit him. I keep getting hit marks on enemies (either side) and not dealing any damage. As I said, this wouldnt be so much of an issue if the game wouldn't "make me think" that i hit him, at least then i could understand that it is due to lag and adapt my gameplay accordingly. Another reason why i'm posting this is because Charile's phrase keep popping up in my head every time i get a git mark but no damage, Charlie said in one of Hugh's videos that "lag doesn't matter".
So, i'm confused, kinda frustrated and wondering if this is going to be addressed. I'm not blaming the hit reg itself, as i am very satisfied with it when im playing my normal ping, but if it goes up a few ms, whole hell breaks lose...

Well i agree there are problems with higher pings contrary to what flayra says. Sure, technically prediction should make lag a non-issue, but in reality it really doesn't. More prediction means less frames, skulks doing their bite damage from 5 metres away and the inability to get melee hits in reliably, hit markers flash appearing as you describe, dying and taking damage around corners, or damage coming in very high bursts etc.

As far as i can tell their using the same kind of system as in bf3 with a mix of client/server side (i could be wrong but this is what it seems like) which results in alot of oddities which don't belong in a more 'movement heavy' game where combat is pretty reactionary. Ofcourse high pings will always be a problem, i just wished UWE wouldn't compensate as much for it as they do now.. You either have a game that people with high pings can play reasonably 'ok', or you have one that is more responsive without that 150ms ping cushion they put in or atleast lower o.0. Perhaps they have their technical reasons why its at 150ms, i dno.
