<div class="IPBDescription">we have Res-Harvesters after all</div>as there are several ideas around the powernodes, i thought i throw mine into the mix.
the basic resource system has Tres, Pres and Energy. of the three, energy is the only one totaly unaffected of whats going on on the map.
so if powernodes would provide the energy (used by nano-shield, med- and ammopacks(is comming in 207 i think), ping and so on), like 1 per node per 2-4 seconds, they would become much more important. aliens would have a real reason to attack them.
^thats the general idea, it can be altered and expanded relatively easy:
1. same system for aliens, they also have energydependant abilitys. (would need a new model for a alien powernode?)
2. the powernodes energy can be added to each structures own energy pool
3. OR can be added into a global pool that all structure-abilitys use (more choices for the comm) (global pool could be linked to CC, so a second CC doubles the max. amount of stored energy?)
4.
5.
6.
these i leave for you ;)
edit:
actualy i have to take 4. and 5.
4. as i remembered that there is a powernode symbol in the comm interface, powernodes could cost Tres to place, instead of beeng free.
5. as droping med- and ammopacks uses energy, droping buildings could also cost energy, implying some sort of beaming technology.
so here you go:
6.
7.
8.
lets hear it!
