make cutting the cyst-line more worth it

<div class="IPBDescription">by letting unconnected ones die faster?</div>it would be nice if it was more worth it to cut a cyst chain, then staying there to prevent the gardener from connecting it again. currently, only one cyst dies at a time and this process is very slow. i'd appreciate it if it was sped up, or if the decay would become worse the longer it is unconnected (opposite of welder).
i know that there are other tactics to deal with this (one cuts chain, other covers) but i like the unconnect-cyst-dies-mechanic a lot and i feel it rarely ever influences a game.

    Given how fast a Cyst can grow (~5 seconds), the damage inflicted on the farthest unconnected Cyst isn't enough, TBH. I think a slight build time increase (8 ~ 10 secs) would promote Gorge helping to reconnect Cysts w/ spray and delay alien expansion rate early game, which is very quick still with the new chaining system in place.

    Killing cysts is really easy, so it shouldn't be very impactful

    It's not, it takes like 5 seconds to reconnect the chain and it naturally regens afterwards. Maybe the cysts closest connected to the break in the chain could degenerate at an accelerated rate.

    is it really, for just draining 2 tres?

    if you use the rifle you will be vulnerable to attackers during reload and 1 mature cyst takes 65 bullets with weapons0.
    if you use the rifle-butt it takes really long.
    if you use the pistol you will need some time to switch back to your primary weapon in case attackers approach, and you will lose the possibility of using the pistol when your primary clip is (half)empty.
    if you use the axe, you are a sitting duck in the middle of infestation, easy to spot, visible on the map, unable to spot attackers approaching from far away and you need time to switch back to your primary weapon (or you fight with the axe, but thats usually quite a disadvantage).
    if you use the shotgun you are a sitting duck similar to using the axe, plus you are putting 20pres at stake.
    if you use grenades, it is usually quite a waste of ammo plus 25pres at stake.
    if you use flamethrower you suffer from similar problems as with the rifle plus 30 pres at stake.

    on top, you invest ammo with most weapons (which might be missing in a battle/base attack later on) and it takes some time to kill the cyst, time which the kharaa can put to use to intercept you before you can attack a different target. if cysts are just easily replaced, there will be no gain from this other than the 2 tres and maybe a 5 second delay before new kharaa buildings show up somewhere else on the map.

    this is not as severe when moving as a team. but even then, someone has to temporarily sacrifice the firepower. it is a risk you take (less spotting of enemies, overhead until you can cover your teammates) and i think it should be rewarded if you can hold out for quite a while after successfully taking this risk. right now, the chances of surviving long enough even for 1 additional cyst to die are very low imo. and it takes so long i always feel like i should just keep attacking more and more cysts instead because even if i'd die it would still be faster to simply return to that position.
