Sound completely cut out. Not working at all

Hi all. I hopped on today after getting the most recent update a few days ago, and all was well from the start. I went to plug in a pair of headphones and noticed no sound was coming from them. So I unplugged my phones and then the sound was cut out completely from the game. Any idea what's causing this? I tried restarting the game and had no success. I literally can't hear a thing. I noticed someone else on the front page had a thread about low sound, but his was mostly in-game voice. I'm looking for an explanation and possible fix for complete sound cut off. Anyone got some advice? Thank you.

Do you get sound from any other program?

Did you re-hook up your speaker plug to the correct input?

Do you have a sound card? Perhaps you un-seated the card a tad when unplugging your phones. ensure it is seated on the motherboard properly.
