That has to be the lamest weapon in the whole game especialy when it is given to the strongest character the game. I thought it was fine at first until i reliesed it actualy shoots, the way it looked i thought it was just a close combat thing but it shoots and you can be paralysed continuesly and not be able to move. That weapon needs to be altered, either remove it or give it to a class that can easily be killed not the hardest thing in the game.
The way the weapon is in the game it is more of a single player thing, I had to leave a game cos some **obscenity** head just kept paralysisin me and i couldnt do anythin about it.

a strong class should not have a strong weapon?
and of course it shoots. why would you paralyze someone closerange when you can kill him instead?
paralyze just ensure that when you are alone and meet an Onos, you die. as it should be, given the cost of Onos.
Indeed it seems pertty powerful, maybe should it only have a bit the same effect as Web, but you'd still have your weapon ? Any ideas ?
sorta like saying that a marine with an HMG, HA, motion trakking, and all wep/AR upgrades is cheap
it is hard to pull out the onos, thus it gets nasty powers

sometimes aliens manage to due it, some times they don't
it is also VERY possible to win when aliens have 3 hives up
if marines have the RPs to back them selves up with then they have no worries.

ussually when aliens have all 3 hives they also have most of the RP's. I still agree with what i said earlier.

the most important issue for me as commander is to get to the nearest hive ASAP and setup a base there, and THEN go get more RP's.
If you pop around a corner and see an onos it is really hard to be able to run from it, now that ppl will relise that they can paralyze from a distance then it just becomes lame, it doesnt even need much energy as well.
I think there should be a limit to only 1 onos on alien team and when he dies there is a fairly put time limit before there can be another meaning if aliens have 3 hives marines still have a chance.
that's why marines must prevent aliens from getting all 3 hives. marines that sit around and turtle behind sentries deserve to lose, badly.

Hehe, so you've never slipped by accident and had the aliens take BACK a hive from you? I personally have taken hives that were guarded back plenty of times. Does this mean those commanders I've played against who finally lost the hive to me don't deserve to ever play commander again? That's a pretty broad generalization there.

yes, if your a commander, you need to be on the top of your game and be aware of things that are happening. If the hive is being attacked by a heavy force, you need to get all your marines there ASAP! i ALWAYS setup a phase gate to every hive i take over, its a must.
People have to learn, which includes failing from time to time.
How about marines get limited to one set of HA and one HMG per team lol. OMFG I IS SUCH A GENIUS.
Ono's are meant to be super powerful, they cost 70RP just to evolve into one. HA and a HMG costs a mere 50 - 60 i can't remeber now actually...
Sometimes it hard to stop aliens getting 3 Hives, but often i've played games where they get 3, and end up leaving one undefended, and we've lost because the gorges expanded too fast and didnt defend anthing.
How many times, i've seen gorges "saving for second hive" when no ones even capped any res points yet.
Get over the Onos being powerful, seige cannons shooting thru wall and grenade launchers shooting round corners is what aliens have tp put up with.

The onos is not to powerfull if you kept getting paralyzed with one my advice would be perhaps not to wonder around alone?? or try not to make yourself such an easy target.
Just get over the onos thing and play the game

lol, if you wernt alone a onos could so easily just paralyze all of the ppl you are with, you include. If the onos was at a lower level and shooting above somin there isnt much to hit from there as well, so he could just pin you all down easy and the rest of the alien team could destroy the main base.

Plus 20 RP x 2 , 40 RP x 2 , 60 RP x 2 , 50 RP for research and weapons upgrades at a one-time cost of 290 RP
Plus all marine buildings required (25 RP , 25 RP , 50 RP , 40 RP) = 140 RP
Average Grand Total = 430 RP + 50 RP per marine
-Aliens
Hive + 2 Constructed Hives (80 RP x 2) = 160 RP
3 Sensory (14 RP x 3) , 3 Defense (14 RP x 3) , 3 Movement (14 RP x 3) = 128 RP
Onos (70 RP) + Adreniline , Regeneration & Cloaking (6 RP) = 76 RP per onos
Average Grand Total = 288 RP + 76 per onos
I have forgotten why I actually did this ... but it must do something to help this topic .
That said, WOAH i never realized paralyze was a ranged attack. I might actually use it now.
again, look, 2 HMG marines in a base can take out an onos, simply stand behind a structure and pund the oh, right dont cuss:)

And i thot it was only to "tag" the enemy for hive sight. Must be a bug.
Well and logically parasites arent THAT good for health too anyway.
