Lerk Wing Hitboxes

They apparently don't have any. I get why; with how big their wingspan is normal damage would cause lerks to explode every time someone waved a gun in their general direction. On the other hand, the current solution of wings having no hitboxes means that not only do lerks have a rather small targetable location, but the wings actually serve as a distraction from the genuinely damageable area.

Myself and a guy named whiskas came up with this on another forum: Give the wings hitboxes, when the wings are hit the lerk takes minor damage and loses momentum proportional to the damage taken.

(I mainly play Karaa if that's at all relevant)

Or actually fix the hitboxes and FPS and watch half the games problems disappear. But wing hitboxes would alleviate the problem to an extent.

The wings don't actually have hitboxes? That explains.... alot. And seems completely unjustifiable. No performance benefit justifies breaking the game that badly, imagine if marines' legs didn't have hitboxes.

It wouldn't really matter because skulks almost always are just facerolling their spacebar LOL. But when the FPS is actually good you can notice a fairly decent increase in your ability to shoot lerks. Shotguns are your best bet, just to wait in a doorway currently. They do need a hitbox, but nothing else in the game has a damage modifier which is why this suggestion bothers me somewhat (aside from Onos -5 to every damage they take).

Lerks actually do have wing hitboxes and have had them for a long time.
The problem might be not so good feedback to the shooter about how many shots you are actually hitting. Point is, record yourself, play it back in slow mo and you will realise you dont hit as much as you think you do. If you do find hit reg problems then post the video to help the dev team.

And no, skulks dont faceroll spacebar, go try it yourself.

I have, all you do is faceroll spacebar, lol. The timing for all the jumping is extremely generous compared to other games; there's no penalty for jumping badly.

    Except for losing speed :)

There speed penalty is barely anything when you're still going faster than a sprinting marine. And when you have a matured hive you can just leap around without even having to worry about chaining a walljump line. If the skulk actually NEEDED to walljump to get good speed around the map it would be much better than it is now cause you wouldn't just see the entire alien team meet marines on the first RT they drop.

I have been lied to! There will be a reckoning.
