<div class="IPBDescription">(login servers down)</div>You can still play the game by starting Steam.exe, NOT trying to log in and then starting NS2.exe. You will have problems once b205 hits, but you should be able to update your game by using the HLDS Update Tool (see <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/index.php/Dedicated_Server" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/inde...edicated_Server</a> for more info) and then copying the new files over.

as for:
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->NOT trying to log in<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
if you have auto-login enabled, this can still be achieved by changing the shortcut:
change target ("Ziel") tp something like this
<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->(...)\Steam.exe -login laoshra wrongpw<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->
in this case, it would try to login as user "laoshra" with the invalid password "wrongpw" which will fail, giving you the loginscreen afterwards.
local server, here we go.
edit: not even that works.

Somewhere between germany and the us is an ip filter active. You can connect to steam via a proxy. (hotspotshield for example.) After you have been connected, you can deactivate the proxy connection.
Weird. I wonder who is blocking... But anyway...
Have a nice day... ;)

I don't think it is blocked.
If you have a german ip, steam will try to connect to a german steam server (which do not work). With a proxy you have a non german ip, and get connected to a non german steam server.
Please don't recommend hotspotshield.
Its not only adware, but also installs drivers deep into the system, which remain active even after uninstallation.
There are signs that it does some more dubious stuff too.
@security: I have read about this, yes. The drivers are not a problem. Hamachi installs drivers too. But the data sure goes over an "unsecure" proxy. But this problem lies within the fact, that you use a proxy. Beside this, I can't see that it does something dubious.
Yes, but Hamachi ends and removes them properly when it is uninstalled.
I just really don't like software which doesnt properly remove the trash that it brought when beeing uninstalled.
If it doesnt indicate something malicious, then at least crappy programming. :P
I am in Austria.
