<div class="IPBDescription">what gives</div>so i rock a watercooled i7 at 2.7ghz, 6 gigs o ram, decent HD, an Nvidia 560ti etc.

setting resolution doesnt seem to help the frames, and setting effects all the way down still doesnt give me the 60+ constant frames i'm looking for.

anyone else have this issue? am i missing drivers or something?

PS: why does the game install Direct x every time i launch it? "performing first time settup" on steam

Hi and welcome to the forums.

I guess it is the clock speed of your i7.

Can you name the model number, please?

The game is extremely graphically efficient, the problem comes from the bottlenecks caused by the LUA code. It's the CPU resources that need to be sorted. For more improvement currently, overclock your CPU higher, or upgrade to a faster model.

For a decent explanation of this from 2 of the UWE team go here:

    <a href="http://www.ns2hd.com/2012/04/performance-where-is-it-now-and-where.html" target="_blank">http://www.ns2hd.com/2012/04/performance-w...-and-where.html</a>

Performance cost should drop considerably over time, but it's a long slow process...

yeah please consider these guys have created a game engine and a game for it. it's going to be a slow process but, like a butterfly, it will soon come out of its cocoon as a giant ass-kicking onos that stomps and devours everything its path.
