Bio-flashlight: Sticks on a weapon of your choice and gives you an enhanced flashlight. Now, when any alien lifeform is hit by the light they will glow brightly, or become translucent, or some effect that'll makes them really stand out to help you spot and track them. The range is the same as the current light, but the radius would be reduced.

Alien 'sonar': Emits pulsing beeps, indicating when aliens are nearby. There is no visual display you only hear the beeps get faster or slower.

Fuel trap: Attachment for the flamethrower allows fuel to be leaked controllably out, so a marine can cover a small area in fuel and then light it. Useful to deter aliens from entering an area, but you won't get as much fire from the weapon as you do with the standard firing mode.

I was thinking about this too, it'd help in scaling the LMG better towards lategame.

How a about double ammo clip, 100 rounds instead of 50? Would help a ton against higher lifeforms later in the game.

why not go all the way and just make it like the tracking thing from Alien?

Then it could be too similar to what the observatory does. Although I'd be very happy if they put the Alien film's tracker in.

Armour Piercing Modifier: Like nano-shield, a blue laser pattern goes over the end of the rifle, coating bullets with nanites as they come out. Extra damage, makes different firing noise, and slightly slower rate of fire (cos Nanites). When the battery runs out the nanite coating laser goes off and the rifle goes back to normal.

Tranquilliser Dart: A dart is fired from the attachment, and if it hits an alien lifeform, that unit's energy will slowly deplete until it reaches zero and it will stay at zero for perhaps 5 - 10 seconds. Ideal for disabling an alien and forcing it to flee, but you've gotta have good aim. Does not penetrate Onos hide. Attachment holds 3 darts. Cannot be reloaded without purchasing another attachment.

yesss this is cool, but it would pretty much make the flamethrower obsolete
