<div class="IPBDescription">My 2 Cents</div> My friend Terminatour has some logic in what he is saying in his post about damage, I was their when he was testing it out, hell I had him single shooting me, it's true, the damage is jacked, but onto what this is about.

Aliens overpowered? Marines underpowered?

Right now, you can win the game with 2 hives. Lerk + Fade + Teamwork = Win. Plain and simple

Hell man, Lerk's are bad **obscenity** in and of themselves, before and after Umbra

But think about it. Marines took a pretty tiny blow in the 1.01 patch. The real problem lies in the Fade, who got a huge boost in my opinion. Not only that, but imagine how much better this guy would be if he had a working Bile Bomb. If bilebomb wasn't bugged all to hell, it would make Alien Victory's so much easier, even against Turret Farmers.

As for the rest of the game and all it's glorious parts, shotguns and everything are just fine. They don't need to cost 1 effing RP less. I don't know about any of you people, but sometime in the next 24 hours I'll record myself doing a shotgun rush on a public, even in a scrim if we do it, and you can watch first hand in DivX encoded Natural-Selection goodiness, just how "undepowered and unbalanced" this game is, as me and the marines tear your puny hive apart. Nothing is scarier then a successful Marine Shotgun Rush, at 20 RP's, it's perfect. That means 2-3 people will have a shotgun, 4 if you wait about a minute or two to rush. Now let's say you drop it to 15? Bloody hell, that's 4 people with shotguns right off that bat, up and into 5 or 6 if you wait. In a clan match that'd be devasting. Shotguns TEAR Through skulks man, and what would the Skulk do against 5 Marines armed to the teeth with one-shot-skulk-killers ? Nothing, except lose, over, and over, and over. It'd take one of the greatest ambushes ever set and executed in the history on online gaming to stop 5 Marines who know how to play and are expecting to be ambushed, walking around with Shotguns.

Bring the fade's power back down, and you'll see a big drop in the Alien over Marine victories. He was already dangerous before. You just went and made him a bigger and tougher bad **obscenity** mofo "from the Westside highway, so recognize my nigga". He's the key ingredient in the over powering of the Aliens. Or rather, teaming him up with a Lerk is the key <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> But he wouldn't be half as deadly if you brought him back to his 1.0 stats. Even when teamed up with a Lerk. Cause the moment Bile Bomb is fixed, it'd take a miracle for the Marines to win with out a shotgun rush. A miracle, a prayer, and a priest to bury the bodies.

    Fix that bile bomb. Remember it's a three hive weapon, if the marines can take and hold one hive they will never face a bile bomb. If they have bile bombs, they also have onos. Spore cloud. Babblers. Xenocide. All upgrades.

    Ok but are you SURE that 3 people with HMG's still woulden't of got the job done? For you guys, I guess you can REALLY REALLY get a whole lot of power out of the shottie. But for 90+% of the NS player population? Should a weapon be neutured due to a small group of pros?

    dont touch anything, fix bilebomb bug, and give marines AId Stations.

    First off Hi quiet :O Lerk does in it self own and ive seen your very evil useage of it. Second, i Knew something was funny with the damage cause my skulks seemed to always last more than 1-2 lmg bullets more with carapace and i couldnt figure out why. I completly agree with the fades, If your a marine facing a lerk/fade combo your going to die, ive never seen this used quickly and in skilled hands fail, Im not sure about the exact numbers for umbra but if you think that with lvl 3 carapace making all damage 60% less (thanks for testing that) PLUS umbra adding god knows what and the fact that acid rockets can kill a light armored marine in 3-4 shots, those are some dead marines.

    Marines have no counter to a fade at long range, all marine weapons are very innacurate at long ranges baring the pistol (with its impressive 10 round clip) while acid rocket has perfect accuracy not to mention splash damage. the only way to kill a decent fade is to get up close and pray hes weak enough for you to kill him before he gets 2 claws in on you

    Also one more thing that helps aliens a lot indirectly is that when they buy a fade They are actually paying for it, They know that if they lose it they will be fadeless for a while (assuming they have a normal ammount of resources at the mid game) so they want to protect it, on the other hand a marine gets handed this HMG from the big commander in the sky and says OK time to kill them, and dies from carelessness which only costs the marines more money.

    Also if you do the math, once they fix bilebomb, Fades could kill a turret with 7 bilebombs about, not to mention that they do splash damage so are hurting multiple turrets at once (3 bileboms does more damage than a siege cannon shot, if it worked that is) this however works both ways, since the grenade launcher is also bugged vs buildings like bilebomb is so it all works out for the best

    Hmm well in the public games that I've been in, once you get Fades against you you either need a gift from the gods (a comm smart enough to have researched HA and HMG etc by then and actually has moneys to put them down) or incredibly inadequate aliens. The way it is now it just seems like there's a research race going on, the first guy to have Fades/HA, HMG etc wins, with the coming of the first Fades meaning you have to retreat back to your base leaving the way clear to capture a third hive meaning you'll get Onos come crashing through your gates soon. Or you have a good group and adequate weaponry (by the time you encounter your first Fade, anything else is too late) which means you slowly but surely gain terrain over the aliens and almost certainly can secure a hive or two (giving that the marines aren't exceptionally stupid and the aliens aren't exceptionally smart (this is public after all)).
