<div class="IPBDescription">My 2 Cents</div> My friend Terminatour has some logic in what he is saying in his post about damage, I was their when he was testing it out, hell I had him single shooting me, it's true, the damage is jacked, but onto what this is about.
Aliens overpowered? Marines underpowered?
Right now, you can win the game with 2 hives. Lerk + Fade + Teamwork = Win. Plain and simple
Hell man, Lerk's are bad **obscenity** in and of themselves, before and after Umbra
But think about it. Marines took a pretty tiny blow in the 1.01 patch. The real problem lies in the Fade, who got a huge boost in my opinion. Not only that, but imagine how much better this guy would be if he had a working Bile Bomb. If bilebomb wasn't bugged all to hell, it would make Alien Victory's so much easier, even against Turret Farmers.
As for the rest of the game and all it's glorious parts, shotguns and everything are just fine. They don't need to cost 1 effing RP less. I don't know about any of you people, but sometime in the next 24 hours I'll record myself doing a shotgun rush on a public, even in a scrim if we do it, and you can watch first hand in DivX encoded Natural-Selection goodiness, just how "undepowered and unbalanced" this game is, as me and the marines tear your puny hive apart. Nothing is scarier then a successful Marine Shotgun Rush, at 20 RP's, it's perfect. That means 2-3 people will have a shotgun, 4 if you wait about a minute or two to rush. Now let's say you drop it to 15? Bloody hell, that's 4 people with shotguns right off that bat, up and into 5 or 6 if you wait. In a clan match that'd be devasting. Shotguns TEAR Through skulks man, and what would the Skulk do against 5 Marines armed to the teeth with one-shot-skulk-killers ? Nothing, except lose, over, and over, and over. It'd take one of the greatest ambushes ever set and executed in the history on online gaming to stop 5 Marines who know how to play and are expecting to be ambushed, walking around with Shotguns.
Bring the fade's power back down, and you'll see a big drop in the Alien over Marine victories. He was already dangerous before. You just went and made him a bigger and tougher bad **obscenity** mofo "from the Westside highway, so recognize my nigga". He's the key ingredient in the over powering of the Aliens. Or rather, teaming him up with a Lerk is the key <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> But he wouldn't be half as deadly if you brought him back to his 1.0 stats. Even when teamed up with a Lerk. Cause the moment Bile Bomb is fixed, it'd take a miracle for the Marines to win with out a shotgun rush. A miracle, a prayer, and a priest to bury the bodies.

Ok but are you SURE that 3 people with HMG's still woulden't of got the job done? For you guys, I guess you can REALLY REALLY get a whole lot of power out of the shottie. But for 90+% of the NS player population? Should a weapon be neutured due to a small group of pros?
Marines have no counter to a fade at long range, all marine weapons are very innacurate at long ranges baring the pistol (with its impressive 10 round clip) while acid rocket has perfect accuracy not to mention splash damage. the only way to kill a decent fade is to get up close and pray hes weak enough for you to kill him before he gets 2 claws in on you
Also one more thing that helps aliens a lot indirectly is that when they buy a fade They are actually paying for it, They know that if they lose it they will be fadeless for a while (assuming they have a normal ammount of resources at the mid game) so they want to protect it, on the other hand a marine gets handed this HMG from the big commander in the sky and says OK time to kill them, and dies from carelessness which only costs the marines more money.
