11) you have to turn on cheats in a LAN before you can get in the CC or hive

I feel like you can solve many of these issues by not playing in 200x300 resolution or whatever that is O_O

I don't think the game will work very well in 640x480 windowed mode.

Also, you can join teams by typing j1 or j2 in the console, in case you get stuck in the ready room

its 640x480, a resolution that the vast majority of half-life and counter-strike players used due to the 120+hz refresh rate on the old CRT monitors. Also, the FPS gain using 640x480 is huge. If 640x480 is not a supported resolution in the game it shouldn't be listed in the options menu as a supported resolution

I also doubt the fps gain on that resolution is much higher than on say 1280*720. The game is really not meant to be played on that resolution, I don't know why it's even in the menu options.

It may have been acceptable once but is not so any longer. If it obviously doesn't work, don't use it. It isn't the job of the game developer to prevent you from making obviously bad choices. Complaining that 640x480 doesn't work properly but it's in the menu, is a little like complaining that the game doesn't work properly if you click 'delete local content' in steam, or that the game looks horrible if you put it on the horrible graphics settings.

It's up to you to choose options that suit you, if you don't like the way the game plays at extremely low resolutions, don't choose them.

What the crap kind of analogy is that? Jesus. If the option is in the game's menu, then yes you're allowed to assume it'll actually work proper.

The reason it is not, is because a lot of stuff in the game isn't finished, and that the main-menu is pretty ###### terrible right now so you can't trust anything it says.

That depends on your definition of 'proper'.

Personally I would find the simple fact of playing on really horrible graphics settings or in a tiny 640x480 window to be far more annoying than a nonfunctional marine buy menu.

At least I could actually see and shoot things and enjoy the graphics if I was playing on a sensible resolution and graphical setting.

My point is, some people find some options useful, some people find them inherently unusable. Maybe some people don't mind playing the game at such a ridiculously small resolution that the UI doesn't work properly. If you aren't one of them, you should have the mental capacity to change the setting.

I used to play on 320x240, but then I got myself a Voodoo 2 3DFX and a new world opened up for me. The rest after that is ancient history, like 5 generations of PCs kind of history...

or they could make a game where the visuals scale correctly
I play at a higher resolution than the '1080p' everyone loves to namedrop, and some things aren't positioned/sized properly for me as well.

I think this says it all, folks.

When I tried to play on my laptop a few weeks ago, I got stable frames at a low resolution but everything looked terrible because of this same issue. If you guys want this game to succeed, you can't block things like this from being fixed because of your irrational response of "geez why are you playing on 640x480 only idiots do that!"
