<div class="IPBDescription">I hate computers sometimes</div>I have been attempting to setup my PC to live stream NS2, so that I can stream all the gathers and matches duplex have.
I have setup accounts with twitch.tv and own3d.tv, both sites are fantastic and work really well.
I have downloaded Xsplit and set it up to broadcast to both twitch and own3d accounts.
My problem arises when I add a screen area to Xsplit, from that point on (even without recording) my NS2 becomes unplayable with huge input lag and choppy FPS.
I can record gameplay flawlessly using Fraps and my PC specs are high, so I am sure that it is not a performance issue. Most likely Xsplit simply being buggy and there being some unusual incompatibility. However I wanted to see if there is anyone in the community who can shed some more light on the problem or has a fix?

My internet connection is 5mbit upload which from my research is easily enough for streaming (even if its terrible quality). I also get the problem before I even begin uploading/broadcasting.

From research others manage to do what I am attempting, it also seems strange that I get this even before anything heavy is being done by Xsplit. Simply choosing a source causes the problem. Not the action of any encoding, etc. Whether I am actually broadcasting or not has no visible impact on performance at all.

But I guess you already checked all xsplit threads out.
Have you tried streaming other games as well?
As I would be using it in clan matches and gathers, I don't really want to sacrifice any significant amount of performance as it would damage my play.
If you are having troubles with performance, try to setup a lower x264 encoding profile or otherwise go and buy the xsplit license... its an awesome programm!
