<div class="IPBDescription">HUGH Fps drop that comes 100% random!</div>TSIA

Been playing soon for 100 hours Ns2 but after a few hours gameplay each day ( with 80 fps+ )
it just goes down hill within a second to 10-20 fps. It doesnt help if i rebot the game cuz the FPS problem is still there
when im checking the menu. Anyone know a fix for this? Only way to fix this for me is to rebot the computer but sometimes it doesnt help.

    What CPU are you using?

Nothing is random, try and run the profiler just a test and have a look at what is causing these issues

    Console: profile

And get us some screenshots, most likely it is either sounds loading (build200 issue) or materials loading or navigation loading issues or models loading and so on :)

Maybe your cpu is overheating and then down clocking.

    Sounds legit.

Im having same issue since build 199, I fixed it by using these console commands

    r_atmospherics false
    r_bloom false
    r_shadows false
    r_instancing flase
    r_fog false
    r_mt false

    and using this mod
    <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=113246&hl=" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/in...=113246&hl=</a>
in the mod menu options I turned AA off and all settings to low.

should be noted that I have an ATI radeon HD 4870x2 and an i7 920 at 3.0 ghz.

    neither is overheating.
the fps drops happened on alien evolve menu, and randomly when marine hud elements came up, ie right after building something.
the fps is more like less than 1 fps for me when it happens, and it never recovers from the stutter.

having other issues now on build 200 such as extremely frequent crashes.

The easiest thing is to show us a screenshot of the profiler.

Pause it with the spacebar, then move left/right with the [] keys. take a screenshot when you are on the biggest spike, and perhaps some around it.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not...

It is legit. It was happening to me and my fps would randomly drop after playing games for 10-15 minutes. It makes sense if restarting the game doesn't help.

Download realtemp or a similar program to monitor the temps of your CPU and GPU when it happens.

Sorry for OT but can't resist...

Is NS2HD having problems with FPS drops, or are you asking NS2HD for help?

Check the computer BIOS and make sure that you don't have anything like SpeedStep technology or power saving stuff turned on. They might downclock the CPU if things are getting too intense. If you're not familiar with your computer's BIOS, check the motherboard manual for help.

Works okey now but i guess i cant get 100+ fps yet cuz of the sound problem?
Anyone know when they will fix so we can max the fps?
Its play able for us now but it would be nice so we can fraps :)

Maybe play the game in window mode and leave next to the window the task manager to see which goes down?
But i can agree that i got sometimes weird slow downs.
