Sound feedback when you do it correctly?
First and foremost my question: could you add sound feedback when you do it correctly? Just play another sound when jumping from a wall kind of thing?
Secondly, I started my own local server trying out the new patch. I just get on quickly to see the changes, and I decided to give the Skulk skill-movement a go.
It's pretty great, honestly! In fact I enjoyed it so much I lost track of time and I think I were playing it for 1½ hour just to become better at it.
I began to see patterns that was useful in the environment, learned the movement and got increasingly better at it. If this is the system you're going for, I have to say I like it a lot. Just needs polishing, maybe some leveldesign tweaks (the rocky outcrops in Summit was a harsh mistress) and player feedback so it doesn't feel 'random'.
Also, I observed that the best/easiest way to perform the wall jump and get the speed boost is to either:
1.) Run straight at the surface or run along it and strafe into the wall until you stick.
2.) Aim your view along the wall's normal and jump or strafe in the same direction of the wall's normal and jump (pressed at the same time).
I had most success with the strafe method, if someone can fill me in if this is the best way or not would be helpful.

This is a pretty good idea. Props. Audio feedback is a great tool and often underused.
