Glass or clear texture

So, I'm trying to figure out the best way to make a clear or see through texture or if I should use a glass prop.

The idea is that once there is water actually implemented, I'll be able to put it into a holding tank that is being sterilized with UV light.

Right now I have the yellow and grey arrows as the texture just to get an idea of what it should look like.

I don't have any experience using photoshop or any other similar program. So, I'm unsure how difficult of a task that this would be.

Thanks guys.

right now, putting a transparent solid color .dds in the emissive section of your material file is the only way to accomplish this as a texture.

<map type="emissive" value="materials/ns2_skyfalls/glass_blue_illum.dds" /> is the one i used for my blue glass in skyfalls. pm me if you need more help.

For some reason I don't think my PMs are working. I can't see the ones that I've sent you.

I don't really have any experience with textures, so that's a new realm for me. I also don't have photoshop or any other program to make textures. So, a quick tutorial would be awesome.

Is this how the wall @ crevice on summit was created?

I've been pondering the idea as well.

I was just looking at summit recently in the editor. It appears that every use of glass (more than you realize) uses the rectangle glass prop. You can get clever with scaling and stretching / hiding corners to do a lot with the prop.
