Res for Corpse

Doing RFK right?
- ALL corpses give res to the owner of the room (creep or race buildings/Alien, unclaimed or contested (=nobody), powered or with race buildings/Marine)
- If you die on your own turf (no enemy buildings /cysts, turrets and all that other defense crap dont count for this\ in the room), you are significantly less worth to the commanders
- Corpses either sink into the floor (creep, probably problems with clipping on multilevel maps/ducts below floor if not traced- CPU intensive on server and client?) or vanish with that phasing, floaty HL2 bugzap effect
- marine weapons are affected, too - after a duration.
- JP/exo and lifeform (gorge and lerk give more than skulk, less than fade and onos) affect 'killpay'.

Would be a plausible explanation for vanishing corpses, resources are gained by desintegrating the fallen of and by both sides.

Marines recycle their corpses since the armor is custom tailored by nano fabrication, penetrated and basicly useless.
Aliens recycle their own corpses because, well, theyre alien beasts, damnit!

Reason your own team gains less from your death is because
- Marines deduct the fines and fees for the family (life isn't worth much in the future),
- Aliens have to isolate and purge poisoned tissue.

It's a pretty sensible idea, though it would dramatically change the game if implemented I would think. Specifically, this would result in a fair bit more siege play from room-to-room and less mobility from either side (as venturing into enemy territory would give the other team a greater advantage than before).

From an art/lore standpoint, I love it! I can see the marines exporting Kharaa specimen for "research" income, or something like that, and the developers have stated before that they'd like to have infestation interact somehow with downed marines and equipment.

One thing to watch out for: do we really want to discourage skulks from invading marine territory? I think that was somewhat a problem with RFK in the past.

I like the potential this has to balance out large rushes. I think a cash Tres bonus (something like 1-2 res per skulk, 1-2 res per shotgun, 1-2 res per marine?) could really even put some impact behind a failed rush and force teams to think carefully before going all-in.

Right now, neither team has the maneuverability to take advantage of their opposing team's vulnerability during a rush; CCs and Hives just die too fast. This could be the next best thing towards nerfing them.

But that would benefit stalemates, like res4kill has.

How about a building: "the Recycler"

Can't be build in a room with a Control Point

Gives TeamRes for every corpse decaying in this room.

This would be a front line building, not able to be build in a base- or hive-room. Could be available for both teams.

The solution to stalemates are things that require an entire map to control: Oni and Exos. All the res in the world won't help Kharaa hold off an Exo Train with JP escort, and no amount of jetpacks can stop 3 Oni from walking into MS and killing the node.

My experiences in NS2 say otherwise. I have seen enough turtelfests with res4kill.

BB can make short work of any turret farm in seconds, and Lerk Gas can completely shut down their ability to target enemies.
