Extreme Lag Issues.

<div class="IPBDescription">Game is physically unplayable for me at the moment.</div>Whenever I enter any server I have Ping levels anywhere between 500-999 and an extreme amount of lag.
I've tried various fixes I know of that usually fix issues like this on the client side but I've entirely run out.
If anyone else has had this problem and has a fix they used I would be grateful to hear it.

I do understand that this game is in beta but I can't beta-test the game if I cannot play it.
My modem works perfectly fine in all other situations and no other internet related games or activities have this same problem.

Again, if anyone can help, I would be grateful.

What are the specs of your machine? Most importantly RAM, video card (and VRAM), cpu speed. Also you say your modem is fine, but what kind of connection speeds do you have? NS2 isnt exactly high bandwidth, but its not low in terms of online gaming, especially when a round extends for a long period of time with lots of buildings/high player count.

Is it constantly in the 500-999 range? Or is it sometimes ok. I've heard people getting a sporadic ping of 999, but sometimes its fine.

I recently also had a ping of 999. Restarting the game and joining a different server fixed it.

Does this also happen if you start a local server?

Every time you ask for troubleshooting without providing system info, ATI adds a rendering bug for an upcoming game.

Post your system specs, what server you're connecting to, where you're connecting from, and what issues carry over to a local/listen server.

    Specs are as follows;

    Intel Core2 Duo 3.00GHz
    2gb RAM
    64 bit windows 7

    NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+
    -

Each server I attempted to enter yielded the same results.
In the RR I had about 200 or so ping and then as soon as I entered the game the ping would sky-rocket up and I would rubber band whenever I tried to move or in best case scenarios stutter step.
I was able to play the game fine on a local self-created server with little to no problems and ,obviously, no ping issues.

I am directly connected to my modem that is currently functioning properly and I have no issues with other online games. However the major difference there is that most online games I play have provided servers and not port forwarded player servers which, upon doing some reading here in the forums, seems to cause a high volume of servers with low refresh rates.

I tried all the servers that people said were better, though.

I seem to have fixed it for now.
If I have any more problems I'll update.
