Alien models are too dry

They'd be more interesting if they shared the damp look of the infestation, and the deep sea design of the structures.

I want to see drool coming out of their jaws, they should look hungry for human flesh! I don't want them to look like plastic articulated figurines.

When they are shot and bleed that green ooze let their blood glow in the dark! Let's see venom on their claws.

If you've ever been unfortunate enough to face an aggressive dog you'll know how intimidating shiny wet teeth can be. It's something we react to instinctively.

So please add this to the game sometime it'd make much more of a difference than you might think.

Compare the dry figurine - which is how the current NS2 models look - with the wet model. One is alive and breathing, the other is dead and unmoving.

Yeah I suppose this would be cool.

Although I'd like to see everything else get fixed and other gameplay things added before it be attempted.

    Of course :)

Getting the look of infestation right should be number 1 art priority.

They said many months ago that alien structures would be given a transparency effect. I wonder what happened to that, because it sounds like something that could be used to make the alien models more lifelike too.

Spark does not yet handle transparency. Every transparent effect in NS2 is either additive, subtractive or some hack/placeholder that does not account correctly for lighting(This is why spore clouds look so out of place).
