These are the 12.2 drivers, only they haven't been WHQL-certified yet (hence why they're calling them 'pre-cert').

after trying out 12+ (with and without pcaps) and getting massive bsods (yes of course i did driver cleaner) i went back to 11.12.

And for those finding similar problems (im rolling with a 6990) with the newest 12+ catalyst drivers:
    That classic fix for flickering:
    1. go into catalyst uncheck surface optimization
    2. end process on MOM.exe
    3. Regedit in run box
    4. Search regedit for catalystai
    4.1 if CatalystAI_DEF change from 1 to 0
4.2 if CatalystAI value is (dec) 31 or 32, change to 30 (dec value for '0')
    5. repeat until all values are changed, cause no game should have to use catalystAI (lol i have yet to see it perform better with it in any single way)
    6. close regedit and restart MOM.exe

Problem solved. (this is assuming your tired of bothering with radeonpro which reverts the catalystai value to true or 1 after every reboot, even if you change the default profiles.xml, or particular game profile (another option on that is to load the xmls in notepad++ and make it read-only, making actual read only in windows file system prevents the game from starting with radeonpro))

Cool. I have apparently endured about 190 hours of NS2 with the flickering. Apparently I'm just too lazy to even check these forums for tips heh. It wasn't too noticiable on summit but mineshaft has seizure inducing areas... I gather that once this is WHQL certified it will eventually be rolled out. Anybody care to estimate how long that will take?

12.1 with CAP 3 fixes the flickering problem and is WHQL. OP just linked a news site and meanwhile there sandst something about 12.3, scroll down to 12.1 CAP 3.

Eh wasn't worried about installing non WHQL stuff... just wanted to know when it will be bog standard and therefore stop scaring new people off... Cheers for the link tho.
