UWE at GDC this year?

Just wondering if any of the staff will be attending. A friend studying game design will be attending with the primary goal of meeting people and learning anything she can. I know you guys are really cool about talking with your community and open about things like the postmortem every month, so we were wondering if she can come up and say "hi" if she happens to run into any of you.
I believe her particular strength is in concept art, though she's studying more than just that.

Also, I'd like to know - if you had any advice to give an aspiring developer attending GDC for the first time, what would it be? What would you try and do while you're there?

Thanks :D

Yes, some of us will be attending GDC this year. Of course anyone is always welcome to come up and say hi, if they run into us.

As far as advice for an aspiring developer attending GDC -- learn. Check out as many talks as you can that are relevant to the discipline you want to pursue in the industry, and even talks that aren't directly relevant can expand your perception and knowledge about game development. There are many industry vets with years of experience sharing their wisdom and there is plenty of useful information to soak up.

In addition, use it as an opportunity to meet and talk to new people. Make friends. Networking is an important element to getting hired at a game company, so don't be shy.
