General Inconveniences

<div class="IPBDescription">Easily amendable with some changes</div>These are some things I find as inconvenient, I do have hope that they will be fixed over time as the game nears release :)

<b>Frontiersmen</b>

1) <b>Unbuilt Power Nodes in dark rooms</b>
- I know there's the hint to press E to build, and Marines have flashlights, but it would really help if the unbuilt Power Node core can be lit up/pulsate with its distinctive blue color to better help locate it, at least for new players :)

2) <b>Infantry Portals</b>
- Please allow the Marine Comm. to orient the IPs on placement and after building complete (similar to Sentry gun); it reduces the randomness of direction for spawning Marines due to the built-in randomized orientation for buildings.

3) <b>Power Status of rooms for Commander</b>
- As Commander, when I want to place unbuilt structures somewhere, I would really like to know if that room/hallway is powered by a Power Node or not. Sometimes I unknowingly create an unbuilt Power Node that gets chomped to pieces and darkness/red lighting soon follows.

4) <b>Marine Current Equipment Visual Indication</b>
- Like in TF2, show the weapons you currently have at the middle right side of the screen, when you use number keys or mouse wheel to switch weapons.
- Or middle left side, depending on where you put upgrades and research complete notifications :)

<b>Kharaa</b>

1) <b>Enter Hive & Gorge speed-up build hint</b>
- Easy fix, just add the letter E underneath the player's cursor like for Marines.
- Or tie construction speed-up with Heal Spray as some members have suggested, reduces need for +use.

2) <b>Cancel button for some structures</b>
- For things like Mature upgrade, research, spawning Drifters, etc. A minor chore really.
- Now that I think about it, maybe a Cancel button for building structures to get your Drifter back? This would help lots for misplacement on Alien Comm.'s part (as well as act as an alternative to Recycle)

3) <b>Current Commander status for Kharaa players</b>
- Nothing fancy, just "No Commander" and name of Commander under the PRes + TRes HUD bar on top, would be useful to know without popping the scoreboard up.

4) <b>PRes cost indication for Hydra and Mini-Cyst</b>
- Another step towards polishing, it would be nice if PRes cost is displayed (like in the big current ability circle at the bottom right, underneath the icon?)

What else do you guys find inconvenient, to add to the list?

    Great ideas! I like to see all those suggestions implemented.

    On top of that, I'm liking the idea of temporarily Hydras more and more. Hydras should only cost energy, but expire after a time limit, or when they deplete their energy after x attacks.

    I found the marines' short range flashlight to be inconvenient

    ^- Ohh, I like that version very much. Reduced intensity with longer range adds great immersion :)

    actually the intensity is INCREASED with range.
    As that is how most flashlights work.
    They focus the beam in the middle.

    Oh I see what you meant now.
    Yeah.
    The biggest circle is the same intensity as default. Just set up differently so it looks like it's not as bright.
    But the smaller circles are brighter.
