From the skulk's general appearance I'd say the parasitic package is rather shot from a tube under the tongue of the skulk, I'd prefer to see airbags inflate a bit instead.

I agree with your take on the parasite shooting mechanism, but it's only a visual indicator for ease of understanding the ability (instead of misinterpreting the ability for a ranged spike attack, looking at you Parasite ability icon >:O)
