<div class="IPBDescription">Are we getting misleading results?</div>I am assuming there are alot of player that get less than 20 frames per second in combat, if I'm wrong about that, then never mind this post. :P I know there will always be players with less than ideal computers, but it seems people with up to date computers have the same problems as me. (A side question: With the lowest resolutions and lowest quality, what is the minimum amount of frames that we should expect?)

Maybe, just MAYBE, this could be a small part of the "OVERPOWERED LERK/FADE!!" that I'm sure all of you have seen/said.

For marines, tracking alien movement is nearly impossible with the current performance issues. All of the alien lifeforms seem much more difficult to kill because of this.

For aliens, having a low fps is more forgiving since the marines just need to be in front of you.

By the way, this might be me being spoiled by other older games, but I consider 60fps to be 'playable'. Anything less than 40 is unacceptable, to me at least. Keep in mind that this is coming from a formerly competitive player so this might be a minority opinion. All eyecandy off, gimme dem frames brah.

Totally agree on the fps issue.

Have played CS competitively, the difference between a great ping and low fps compared to a great ping and high fps was... BIG

Even a slight stutter in times of action would completely ruin your snap judgement in aiming, especially when trying to score a HS.

It makes all the difference when playing at a very high level. Even more so in NS2, when the opposing side is smaller than human size and runs/flys/blinks.

Agree! let me enjoy the game not flashy graphix =/

None is sustaning +20fps in full combat of a post 10 min game with full turrets/ full structures and 10+ aliens on the screen

gonna need this for the game to take off -

i think 60 fps is the threshold where things really start to feel smooth, but you really can notice the differences all the way up into the high 100s. i really hope that ns2 can achieve that on midrange systems by release.
