Server browser (I think) crashing internet

It's a problem I used to get with a lot of steam games which I fixed using the method located here

But basically I load the game up, the server browser loads the servers then shortly after my internet will cut out.
I'm not sure if it's fixable by the devs but I thought I'd put this here and see if anyone else gets the same problem.
