I vaguely recall you guys liking Recettear so figured this was worth bringing up. Though it's not related, except for being translated by the same guys and being about kawaii anime girls having even more kawaii adventures.

It's a platformer action RPG; you cut and magic your way through dungeons, solving puzzles, gaining xp and items etc. There's a party system that lets you customize how your (extremely kawaii) friends act in combat, or you can just control them directly.

I liked what I saw in the demo. Combat was tricky to do perfectly but not overly punishing, though you do get more healing items than you really need if you take care to explore. Items are expensive and XP gain slow, but the equipment and levels make a big difference, so it's a "big jumps infrequently" sort of deal.

If you can get over such a sickeningly sweet tone as Recettear had, definitely give it a try.

If there is, it's not in the demo, but it would be like Carpe Fulgur's sense of humour (well, assuming there's an appropriate other town in the original game in the first place).
    Anyway, some news: http://www.carpefulgur.com/forum/index.php...msg8962#msg8962
Release on Jan 24th; price will not be $25 as previously said, but <=$20.

I'm interested, I'm just buried under games. I just got Resident Evil for 3DS as well as starting Zelda Skyward sword (I've had it on my 'pile of shame' for a while now) and at the end of the week Soul Calibur V hits... so much gaming! @.@

I am just waiting on the Steam demo to be available before buying. I played Recettear (got it during holiday sale in 2010) and have been keeping up with CF ever since. Also this release will decide whether the one dev at Lizsoft keeps working at his 9-5 job or gets to make more games on his own (so now you must buy this game!!!11).

Are demos on Steam sometimes delayed or was it a mistake that the demo isn't up (even though it lists there being a demo)?

Also did Steam remove the ability to see how many players recommend a game? It used to be under the "Community" section in a store page but now it's gone for all games.

It allowed a way to sort of estimate how many bought the game.

Does it have to be the STEAM demo? The regular one can be downloaded from the site...
