Aliens really changing the map
Idea cysts have greater affect on thickness on infestation... Product with 189 distance placement and standard dropping you could build hills by stacking cysts or if you place enough you could effectively build a wall

Example 4 cysts 1 on each side of a door would close it off enough you would have to crouch to get through... But the 5th would seal it off....

Reason gives the maps an ability to change layouts, a granade or 2 would destroy it but it would take a few secs to disapate and be passable...

Imagin opening a door and finding a wall of infestation in front of you, sure you can blow it up or chop it down but what's waiting for you?

And with jp's comming you could temp seal off vents to prevent there escape and slow down the fast moving jp's.

This is a very cool idea, and I'd love to see how it could work. Also, more incentive to use Flamethrowers instead of grenades = +1 from me.

Great idea here. Giving the gorge more to do. Also it would be cool if the Aliens, since they are aliens, could morph/squeeze through the infestation wall since they are basically interconnected in weird ways.

instead of changing cyst, maybe create a new structure for it..

alternatively make the mappers be able to designate areas of the map where aliens can 'infest' to create a wall
(similar idea to how doors will be working in the future, but for aliens to control and marines to destroy instead)

Also has a dramatic effect on fps.

Cysts are just a placeholder for dynamic infestation at the moment, as far as I know. Any sort of suggestion that modifies how they generate infestation will be rendered obsolete when true DI gets coded in.
