<div class="IPBDescription">Comm stuff, new ability, etc</div>I played the ns2 beta recently with decent framerates. Looks very promising and at the moment very fun. This coming from a former ns1 competitive player (terror, ue). Just a few small things I noticed that might improve the game. Sorry if these things are already in development/planned or have been suggested already.
-Able to see the location underneath the waypoint.
-Waypoint shown on the minimap.
-Squadmates are colored differently on minimap.
-I think the weld teammate function might be a little overpowered. Maybe have both people standing still or having the one being welded not be able to fire? Probably way too early to tell, heh.
Comm:
-Able to give MACs multiple tasks build RT, then go here, build turret (is this already in?)
-Able to put players in permanent squads or have players be able to pick their own squads. May be able to keep the current squad system and make the option selectable, or some combination of the two.
-New ability: Being able to spawn in on your squadmate or squad leader (researched at obs, costs money, energy, or time)

That have been discussed alot, and was actually planned at some point. But I think it got scrapped because it would make the game too hard to balance. The ability could easily become too powerful, and the purpose of the ability would overlap with the purpose of phase gates.
When they add the welder back into the game they will make it so you need one to repair a teammates armor once again.
would like to see ability to spawn on a chosen IP, at least that way if your squad is near an advanced post, you can spawn closer to it
also would like the ability to choose a spawn location NEAR an IP instead of directly on top of it... ie,, ability to fight back from a skulk standing on top of the ip chomping on it
