NS2HD Tournament Predictions

Hey, I was going to post this in the NS2HD tournament thread but I thought it might get confused with being actual results. These are my predictions for the tournament:

A few games I'm unsure about because I don't really know all of the teams. I've just guessed those as best as I can. I also think duplex vs Darksdie and HBZ could be close games and the only reason I chose duplex to win is because I'm biased :P I think Inversion will win, duplex 2nd and darkside 3rd.
Feel free to post your own predictions. Here is the tournamnet template if you wish to use it.
Good luck to all teams. It's gonna be a blast to play in and watch all the other matches on NS2HD ^^

Team #156 vs. Inversion is going to be interesting to see, as many clan games have been for fun, allowing clans to experiment with all kinds of goofy strategies (gorge rush anyone?) but now that money is on the line i'm curious to see how these experiences clans will preform.
I don't know too much about TOG, but its interesting to see you've predicted they will defeat Cyd, which seemed to me from Ns2HD's clan casts as among the most successful NS2 clans out there.
As for Pub Disturbance vs Late night Homies, i'm unsure how its going to play out, as i don't know how well Late Night homies have been training and what their play style is like, as well as i haven't really had the opportunity to practice NS2 as much as i used to during the summer. (Darn AP exams with the semester coming up)
Here is my prediction, it is similar to yours, but i based mine more on what i've seen from NS2HD's clan match skirmishes and what little i do know about my own team and some others.
As much as i hope my team makes it far, I don't know how well we'd hold up against Darkside, but i guess we'll wait and see.
Edit: I'll use this thread shamelessly for advertising. Check out my Youtube channel for some scrim recordings if you want to base your predictions on how different teams have been playing before: http://www.youtube.com/user/alesyrj?feature=mhee

And they can merge a command station with turrets and arcs to have a mobile assault tank.
It's difficult predicting accurately at the moment, partly because of the inherent imbalance in the game, partly because server choice is going to give a big advantage to one of the teams in cross-continental matches and partly because many of the teams don't practice much or at all so it's difficult to say how good they actually are. In any case I think it's fair to at least say that Inversion are the immediate favorites, with duplex, HBZ and Darkside as the obvious challengers.
For the initial rounds, the most exciting bracket seems to be the lower right one. Duplex, HBZ and pub.eu all have decent players and are reasonably active. Duplex and pub.eu especially practice quite often which should be noticeable at least in the long run. Unfortunately I think matches between these teams have a high likelyhood of being affected by a tie breaker rule, which will either outright give the victory to one team or give one team a large advantage in a tie breaker round.
I've also seen a few good non-clanned players running around on pubs that could give many teams a boost, so recruitment is still a factor.
Edit: elodea's prediction that YO-clan will beat duplex is hilarious.
Don't speak too soon, anything can happen on the day!
I do not accept that attitude Arga!
Inversion are definitly favorites for this one. And as Fana says, the lower right brackets also have alot of decent teams, which could go any way.
I know it's not the best manners to predict your own team to get to the finals, all of our matches are going to be tough, maybe with exception of the first. But I want to believe in us ^^

We should start practicing!

Your shameless advertising is much appreciated. Been looking for more clan matches to watch.
Here's some more for you by me and Hackepeter:

The Boston server we set up is a good medium for Canada vs Europe teams. What EUR servers are still up that are offered for use? (I haven't checked in sometime). If it ends up being played on Darksides server, duplex has to promise not to cry over it. Fana performs at the same level on our servers as the HBZ server (and I believe he further away than some of you). Promiseeeeeee?
Regardless, if Darlside has a team by their match with duplex that is organized, they have a clean shot at being in the finals.
Well not really, but I make do. The ping difference is a handicap, it's just mitigated by practice playing with high ping.
Thats not fair play dude. First of all, I told you that we would be late for the match because we were missing some players.
You told the remaining of us to join the server anyway.
When we finally had 6 players on the server Wilson got sick and went to throw up, Boxer contacted us and offered to substitute, and then left.
Then your players left, without the chance for us to get another substitute.
What would make you think that we are going to complain about high pings?
HBZ is lending their server for the tournament afaik.
I agree with you that Darkside is decent team, that match could go any way, as I said earlier; the only "easy" round we get would be the first round.
No offense to YO clan, but I rarely see any of you play.
1) Darkside
2) Inversion
3) Duplex

I'm sure he means this in no particular order.
Thanks for the kind words my friends ^^
This is why you don't make threads like this wilson, sometimes it gets a little nasty.
GL to all and see you soon =D
Yeah we were looking forward for that match. ;)
Too bad nobody can go against anyone in this tournament. :(

Well Pub.eu vs HBZ should prove to be interesting aswell, different players already predicted different outcomes for this match, because two very active clans go head to head in round 1 here.
My money is on pub.eu, but I have to recognize the fact that HBZ won't be an easy opponent :-)
