Using Gorges Offensively

Sometimes its a good idea to have a gorge join in on an attack on a base or outpost, and now Im talking rather early in the game. He can heal skulks quickly after a hit-and-run attack and thereby "recycle" them into attacking constantly. Another thing that I use often that not many use(I havent seen it anyway)is webs in an offensive way. This can help your attacking friends a lot. Shoot them more or less at the marines, all over the fighting area, marines will get stuck and the skulks can eat them as they wish. And if they dont get stuck, it helps keeping them back because they are afraid of getting stuck in the webs.
This tactic is advisable only when you have a large attack going on, maybe 5 attacking aliens or more+ the gorge.
Its also advisable to have either regeneration or a defensive chamber not too far away since you will probably take some hits yourself. Now you might say, whats the point with healing the skulks if you have a defensive chamber nearby? Well, if its early in the game you dont have much resources, if its too close to the attacking area it has a big chance of getting destroyed and also they might have a siege nearby. However it is of great help of course, since the stamina runs out rather quickly when your healing and webbing and especially if you dont have adrenaline.

I've seen this done, I have to admit it made early game far easier, and we definately slowed the marine expansion. We were RIGHT near them always, running back to def chambers and cover of off chambers with only one hive, I must of taken out three resource nozzles and 20 marines alone.
This did however slow down OUR expansion as well, and due to two "offensive gorges" in the early game we just BARELY captured the second and third hive away from the HA/HMG/Siege turret marines.

Last night I saw a Gorge using an interesting tactic - we were rushing the marines at the end of the game, but they had a huge base full of turrets as usual. We went in with an onos, a lerk and a fade with the lerk spamming umbra. This was working pretty well but wasn't quite enough.

Then the Gorge wandered in after us and started putting down offensive chambers all over the room! With the umbra and all the other targets in the room, he and the chambers weren't taking much damage and slowly built up. The gorge put down about 5-6 in the space of 20 seconds or so.

This really freaked the marines out, they didn't know what to shoot at, plus the chambers were getting in their way, blocking LOS, and soaking up some damage from the sentry guns.. we wiped them out shortly afterwards.

Obviously this wouldn't have worked if there were any siege guns active. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> But it was fun to watch!

Ahaha, played a game once where we got offense and defense turrets right in the marine base after a few waves of rushes. Basically we got marine holed up in the area set aside for the CC, and filled the rest of the start with chambers.

    read my post: <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=21&t=11552' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...ST&f=21&t=11552</a>

I mention something much like that... Having the gorge with your team while attacking the marines can work great... spraying them, using offense and defense chambers, blocking off other ways for marines to get to you. I have an exampel layout of a great way to protect your team listed there. never forget about your babbles - These can take out many structures and confuse marines.. Think about it, having 4 onos in the room and then 6 bables.. aww the confusion.

as for placing stuff inside their base, sounds cool, btu may be hard
