So I was thinking the other day about what mechanics could be added to ns2, I came up with something its not the best idea but keep an open mind and try to add something if you can, this is a brainstorm.
I'm not sure if it is already in the game, it is knock back, think Quake, think rocket jumps, plasma climbs, juggling your enemy with rockets and lightning. I know what you're thinking, rocket jumping rines would be stupid and i agree that would kill the immersion and just look stupid. What I was thinking is maybe the alien comm could place bubbles embedded in the infestation, these would allow aliens like the gorge to jump on them get some air then slide around the corner, once slide control is added(gorge drifting mod?), if a marine stood on it maybe he would be knocked back and into a cloaked whip. if momentum is added and someway to conserve momentum, skulks could use them for a quick speed boost towards the nearest wall then wallhop the rest of the way.
another way to implement this would be, give the gorge an ability like bb, which would knockback marines if it hit them, if this bb landed anywhere else it would detonate in a few seconds covering everything around it in infestation, if the gorge timed it right he could knock himself out of trouble, then drift :)..
Maybe the marines have evolved in ten years of fighting khaara, maybe their resource towers have upgrades which can knockback enemies when triggered by the commander,

please try not to flame me, yes my grammer is very poor, but I thought this could work and add to the gameplay, tell me what you think.
cheers

it's a very interesting concept. I feel like knocking marines into whips, while the idea has good intentions, could become ultimately insurmountable and OP. But i like the overall idea otherwise. I feel like the alien commander's role is more to support his troops directly and this goes along with that idea perfectly. It could be very useful and would also give even more use to infestation.
