Uncloaking alien hive by damaging it

I find it a bit too easy that a marine can uncloak a hive by shooting one single bullet into it. Only a scan or a real attack sould uncloak it.

My idea: Hives only uncloak when they receive a few % of damage. Single bullethits still cause the hit-noise and the goo dripping out of the hive.
This would be because the hive uncloaks itself to be able to regen its life.

Not sure what to do with the other alien structures.

I don't think this should be changed, as it currently is, its fine against 'n00bs' who dont shoot at hives they can't see, but any decent team / comm will spam scans when you are approaching the hive location anyway.

Does it matter if a hive is cloaked or not, once you know it's there. It's not like they are in locations that aren't obvious :)

Supposedly when the shift it will allow aliens to teleport chambers, including hives. If this is true then this suggestion would strategically more useful.

Yeah, cloaking isn't very helpful for hives. If instead of just cloaking, it actually made the hive invulnerable (like the fade blink), then it would be more useful for hives.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think that right now the Shade's ability to cloak overrides scan.
Only scan should override Cloak, not the other way around.
Might do some testing on this later unless someone else does.
In regard to the OP, I think cloak is okay the way is affects structures.
But the way it works on aliens at the moment is just horrible.
It's being used too much as an assassination tool at the moment, and I don't like that.
It takes away the skill it requires to get close to the marines, and get the kill.
