Build 186 going to be big?

Speculative Musing
Since the game seems to have stabilized somewhat in terms of balance/bugfixes. I've come to believe that there will be a hard inclusion of features in the beta, also considering that it's been nearly 3 weeks from the last update.

No news... What is UW planning, eh Flayra?
Is it the Onos? The Exo? BOTH!?

THE SECRECY.
I'M ON TO YOU GUYS.

I wouldn't say that at all, the FPS dropped a ton for most hence why no one is really playing right now. I would assume they have been working that issue out, after the major system change(or rather hope).

I doubt we'll see any significant amount of content being introduced in build 186 in particular, I am really just hoping for bug fixes, and improved performance, not really for myself, but so that hopefully people will stick around longer like they did in build 184, not like this patch were public servers became somewhat deserted after a week or so.

Yea the progress page has a lot of entries but most of them are just bug-fixes, often many that i didn't know existed, but i am excited for the new weapon pickup system. But other than that, i don't think we'll see jepacks, exosuits, or Onos, or any other significant game assets until build 190-200.

Whatever happened to Pheromone?? The suspense is suffocating me!

Whilst it looks like a lot of effort has gone into bug fixing, which is great news, I don't think we'll see significant editions - so the feel of the game wont change, but the playability should improve.

So unless UWE are keeping something hidden, we should just feel a performance boost. No bad thing!

Every patch is big, huge, massive or whatever around here.

    EDIT:

Reminds me of the moon landings. One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Really? I don't see no huge impact.

They're taking their time. I think after all the recent negativity they want to roll out a patch of awesome.

I doubt there will be anything interesting unless they've been keeping it secret, so in other words there's nothing to really look forward to sadly...

The game could have perfect performance and no bugs at this stage for all i care, with only the current content we got and nothing new on the horizon there's really very little to keep things interesting and fun, these minor patches are getting a bit disappointing, interest can't be sustained on bug fixes alone, they need to release some proper content soon or those maps that are nearly done, im sure they're playable by now so let us beta test them already! :)

Dude why do you even hang around here? You post constantly in every area of the forums and almost every post says something negative. Is there a purpose for this, or are you just a troll? Or are you just so hung up on being a negative presence that you find hating things enjoyable?
  • konatakonata Join Date: 2011-08-24 Member: 118296Members
    How is that negative?

It's portraying the message that movement is movement. Don't blow any movement out of proportion because it can end up looking so small.

Aggressive hate filled person attacking someone there. Read between the lines. Dork.

I would mention that we're no longer able to see the technical-tasks on the piv-tracker, so who knows what goodies might be in store for the next build (proper FPS-improvements hopefully). Though I would suggest not hyping this up, as you might very well be setting yourself up for a let-down (which has been mentioned before as a great source of aggravation).

I thought this was going to be a thread about it being too big in terms of amount of Gb and something about capped/fair use internetz... Oh well...

--> over-hyping stuff is never good and only leads to WTF issues...

Build 186 is shaping up to be one of the most needed releases in a long time. Many game breaking and exploited bugs will be fixed and resolved. All to much do I see organized teams and public players exploiting many of the bugs recently Delivered. UWE also seems to be focused improving the general performance to get all those who have left, back on and playing.

Do I forsee the release of the Exo/Onos? I highly doubt it. Cory has already stated in a previous thread that the Onos animation system still needs work done and the Exoskeleton cannot be implemented without it's tier 3 opposing partner. Also, the Exoskeleton still has yet to have a reveal and the Onos reveal was how long ago? Let's not get to excited to only be let down.

In my opinion, this is what I think 186 will have:

- Many exploits finally fixed and resolved to improve fair play while beta testing.
    - Many game breaking issues fixed or the process of being fixed getting started.
    - Improved performance client side to get back the 10-20FPS lost with 185
    - New features being introduce to make gameplay much more enjoyable (auto pickup gone!!!)
    - Many, many, more to list...

    Exoskeleton = Heavy Armor?

if this patch does not deliver new game content, it means no NS2 1.0 this year.
If 1 month not enough, only for bugfixing, than the remaining 2 month ( i think it will not be released in december) isn't enough to finish ( put in all content and maps) the game.
