<div class="IPBDescription">Or what you can read from the NS2_Stats site</div><!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Aliens have difficulty winning the late-game and marines have difficulty winning both the early and late game. From the design log. This made me thinking. Why shouldn't he be able to have stats on this?
I already have the NS2STATS site up and running that HAS the data, containing the length of all games, so why wouldn't I put it into a graphic?
This new data reveled some interesting facts:
- The game is highly unbalanced the first 20 minutes in, the aliens have a huge advantage there
- From about 50 minutes up (when the marines have all research done, and can focus more on buildings), the odds start to favor marines
- A new map is being tested on 186.0, one I haven't seen on the map forum, so I'm assuming it's totally new, we just MIGHT be getting a new map next patch ;-) (sorry devs for grabbing the scoop here!)
- about 2/3 of the games last under 30 minutes, about 90% lasts under 1 hour. I would think the game time is not to bad there?
A link to this site is in my signature, in case anyone wonders.

I would like the fades to be able to deal more damage to turrets.. even though it's not their job, I'd rather go kill turrets as a fade knowing I can defend myself than go as a gorge and get grenaded and then chased down with the LMG, not to mention the way to safety is in front of where the turrets are facing.
Also, when the blink initial cost is implemented it would be more balanced.. it doesn't make sense unless there's a blink initial cost.
I've seen multiple (unknown) maps being played in passworded-servers the past few months (query the master-server regularly), so I'm not getting my hopes up just yet it will be this patch at last.

By the way, your site requires cookies for it to display.
I wouldn't say the marine are favored, the numbers get pretty small above 50 minutes, it's looks more like even.

The map is played on 186.0, intensely as the stats show, it wasn't on previous internal (online) builds ;-)
It's no secret that the map is internal and made by UWE as cory said before:

The cookies store the session id, which in his turn make sure your session state is maintained as long as your in the application. The lifespan of the cookie is only until you close your browser. The session state allows a user to give search parameters, change pages and making sure the parameters are still the same on return.
I'm sorry if it bothers you but I can't disable it, I can only assure you it's harmless.
"Start to favor" and it does "start to favor", although it's still pretty balanced yes..
IMO the endgame is just as much a struggle of who remains motivated to keep playing..

Yeah, I don't think the 1+ hour game stats really say anything about the underlying game balance as much as who had the patience to stick around long enough to see it through.
