Maybe when a player is being welded the person receiving it could have some text show up on his screen similar to the distress beacon text that pops up?

I am not sure but in NS1 ( didn't play it for over 1 year) there was a weld me command and an icon apeared above the requesting Marine and a weld sound was played.
@Chris
I know what you mean with pressing E or the left mouse button is the same. But I wantsomething in my hands that looks like a repair kit or welder when I am doing this and Aliens should also see that Marines are welding eachother. The mechanic of pressing one button won't change but I am sure it is more atmospheric with a weaponmodel.
As a human i can build things with my hand but my hands can't Reach 3457 K to weld something.

Then add a little model that shows up, and show it when building as well given that you're pretty evidently welding there too.

It could be a little wrist mounted welder/nano bot dispenser! That would be pretty cool and would explain how marines can build/repair/weld without holstering their weapon.
[offtopic] I always jump in my chair when the healing sound of the armory plays, it resembles the sound of lerk-gas a bit too much for my taste. [/offtopic]
back on topic: I repeat what I said before: "Then how do you draw a border between marines who can only build structures, and marines who can build and repair structures? "

Or is all structure-repairing moved to the mac?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Nah. They can have it since they're almost exclusively melee. The only autoheal functions involve hives, crags , and creep. Which are all structure based anyway.

The armory in NS1 didn't replenish armor either.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
getting armor for marines now is easy mode, doesn't require any upgrades or any effort, its actually freely given to them. Lets not forget they get the E ability by default...which lets them repair power nodes, and themselves....welders must be put back into the game.
adv armory should restore armor and health, while normal armory will restore only health

Why do you need to?

That's what I said in my first post.

OR
through welding is the only way marines get armor
