Can we get some more json stats?

Any chance of some more personalised jsons?

I would like the playername, favorite weapon (commander would be considered a weapon to find out who was commanding) and score/kill/deaths is included in this:
<a href="http://unknownworldsstats.appspot.com/displayendgamestats?output=json" target="_blank">http://unknownworldsstats.appspot.com/disp...ats?output=json</a>

And playernames in this one:
<a href="http://unknownworldsstats.appspot.com/displayendgamestats?output=json" target="_blank">http://unknownworldsstats.appspot.com/disp...ats?output=json</a>

So we can create more personlised apps..

Oh and regarding this, what is the date format at? I can't seem to make heads or tails out of it :-)

Hopefully we see json implemented to export data in game or on the server rather than static releases.

Great thanks, I can work with that!

I don't think the release is actually static now, I notice the json online is updating, so I'm pretty sure it's dynamic, we just need more info about the players playing those games.

Json is just an object you can store data in, the NS2 data that is made availible is stored in json data.

Developers can then use this data to create reports and statistics..

I made this just to see what could be done with it:
    <a href="http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=56280" target="_blank">NS2 Stats</a>

But I would prefer to get some extra data..

It's unlikely the devs are going to want to do this. Holding on to detailed (per-kill) stats for every server in an entire game is not a simple thing to do. Just dealing with the volume of data that would come when we get to a 1.0 release would be difficult.

What do you want them spending time on? Fixing actual game issues, or designing and implementing a game-wide stats system?

They don't need to store, design or implement a game wide stats system, if they release the data like they do now for the game matches, we can do that for them.

    That's my whole point :)

Having a good set of data could speed up balancing by helping identify specific problems. The current win and kill stat data lacks important context, such as the match, gametime, tech level, server, players, etc that makes the info less useful. Also, if the data becomes too much, it can be curtailed or maybe incorporated into the server-side so specific servers can continue collecting the data.

SteamID might be better than playername as then you could track stats of the same player even if they decide to change their nick. I think it'd be cool to see things like Avg K:D, amount of kills on other players (like, most killed player, most deaths from) favourite weapon etc. You could also then give each player a ranking based on their kills/deaths just like hlstats.

If people don't want their steamid/nickname included, then use a random, unique ID for each player (like you did with overmind). The point is that we need some way to control for player skill and the only method I can think of requires the player to be identified in some manner (anonymously, if necessary).

You can create a checksum of it for 1-way privacy. But regardless of that, this sounds like it should be a mod really. Why UWE even did this stats-thing I'm not completely sure, possibly for VERY VERY rough balancing purposes, but that doesn't hold until later on (closer to 1.0). Soooo, yeah I think this should probably be down to individual servers running their own stats-software\pages\databases.

I'm in trepidation concerning this subject a bit, cause I really don't want to see a global stats-ranking page kind of shyte, it's just not in the nature of NS to do that kind of personal e-peen glorification.

I don't know why you would want to opt-out anyway. It's only your kill stats, what weapon you used etc. not exactly top secret information. I think seeing what weapons are most used and overall kill stats from all servers could be useful for balance and getting an idea of how the game is shaping up. Personal player stats is just a bit extra.
