Classic NS1 Gameplay

<div class="IPBDescription">NS1 in NS2</div>I was thinking around the style of like, Natural Selection HD where all the gamestyles, buildings, unit health and abilities transfer from NS1 into NS2. So we'll have TFs and the old PG, old GL, ect. I'm thinking it would maybe bring in some of the people that think that NS2's changes are too extreme. I can almost guarantee that the modding community would do this anyway, so why not make it a first-party addition?

Just something I had rummaging around through my head for a while.

Would love to se NS1, NS2 on the same engine. But not with the old models. The the gameplay and balance would be fine.

    Something like NSC_ecplipse, NS2_summit and CO_whatever.
I am really sure lots of people from NS1 would maybe switch/buy.

I also have to agree if UWE will not do it I am sure the Comunity will!
Why not release NS2 with a Modpack?

Someone will mod this so they can get their NS1 with better graphics. The problem right now is that any significant modding is difficult because some patches tend to break the mods. I wouldn't expect this till after the NS2 v1 release.

I think the main issue is that mods (Lua-files) do not sync to the client right now, so everyone has to download it before they can hop on a server, which is really too much to ask for right now (and in the foreseeable future).

Hi the credit of this post goes to all the previous posters (for now "zoro.czplayerScardyBobFloodinatorDimeinurear").

When you look at the "NEWS" page of uw.com/ns2
You can tell by the featured "Youtube" videos that the game itself is actually too similar to NS1
Just look at the movement on the video, and the way of shooting.
Maybe add a year or two before releasing NS2, I'm afraid it's just ns1 with renewed touch.

It appears the video is no longer attached to beta build 183 news post.
Why would UW remove a featured Youtube video? What would be the reason? <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/news/2011/7/ns2_build_183_released" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/news/2011...ld_183_released</a>

    that's the biggest problem :(
would be perfect if clients could download mod-files directly from the game server (or at least from some other location specified)

I'll wait for the final release to make any early judgements.

Same here, a ns1 classic would be very nice, i realy hate the flamethrower.
The models should be remade, also the maps, code but i guess the most of ns2 code will work.
The only feature what should be added to a ns1 HD should be infestation as a optical feature on every alien structure.
