NS2_Moonbase
<div class="IPBDescription">Working Name</div>Well I have been designing a new map to make in between playing around with Spark, and was just wanting some opinions on my design so far. The map will be set on a moon(not decided what planets moon yet) in a small drilling/refinery plant of raw materials. I ended up using the Spread Offense layout with some small tweaks to it. I would also like any opinions on part of the map being actually outside on the surface(in a bio-dome area in the middle of the map which will be in-cased in glass and you would be able to see other parts of the map somewhat), which was where the miners grew plants for food/oxygen. Thanks for any comments/critiquing!

(Note : Map is obviously not to scale, and is a very quick-rough draw up things will change as I build the map)

Yea this was my plan, the dome will have plant life(though mostly dead, as marines would have been called in after the aliens arrived thus the workers are gone/dead) and terraforming experimentation inside of it. You will also be able to view the outside of other parts of the complex, along with being able to actually see inside at a few spots(so owning the dome would help with observation of the map and provide a small advantage as well). Of course this will be limited so as to not unbalance it drastically if owned(probably just a few windows so you could see if someone was passing by or similar).
Be sure to include no_culls otherwise the map would probably lag badly. Keep the distance view to a minimum. As a player, I would like to have a sense of something kept from me. I don't want EVERYTHING shown to me at once. Kind of like baking a cake, you don't mush everything in at once, there are certain ingredients after one another, as well as waiting times. Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks for all the advise, I will definitely take it into account. I agree the map would get boring quickly if you knew everything going on, so instead of a few rooms I figured it might make it interesting if there was a view into the "Docking bay(revised/added some main room names to the outline)." Which is the oddly connected room to the right of the dome with a rt, I wont allow view into the techpoint room below that though. The rest of the base you would just mainly be viewing the outside walls, also note that since the dome is in the middle of this complex that would limit your view outside as well. One more thing to note, this is on a moon so the outside will be pretty barren other than some machinery(and at possibly some point a ship connecting to the docking bay or something).

It's there, you can see it, but you can't get there. Automatic sad face! Makes you feel like you're not wanted JUST for that one second.
I know it's a bit old, but this probably helped me a lot :]
