Works for me to. As far as I noticed, the clientside part of minimap have not even been changed in quite a few builds, despite the server-side part of minimap got completely changed.

would be cool if you could see your health, upgrades and resources (own and team) when you open the minimap. (as a marine / alien) basically the commander resource display and the bottem left health display. directly above the minimap your upgrades (armor level, weapon / melee level, alien upgrades)
Sorry for not doing any coding on this for quite some time (or even visiting the forums), I started on university a few weeks ago (in my third week), and have been (and will continue to be) really busy. Especially the first 4 weeks, as during this time we also have a lot of activities, such as parties, gaming and other fun stuff.
Please dont hate me ;) If someone feels an immediate need to update this mod, feel free to do it and post here. I can add it in the first post when I get time to look here. Otherwise you will have to wait until I have some more free-time. :)
EDIT: @plop Not sure what you mean, never heard of nfs2. But the instructions on my first post should be enough. You get the file from my first post, then you do a backup copy of your local file, and when the backup is ready, you just replace the used file with my mod. Nothing else should be required, unless you want to tweak some valued as described in first post.
I dont know, havent tested. Why dont you try it and tell us? ;)
@kalabana it will give you a minimap that stays in the bottom right corner if you are a spec, otherwise its the normal minimap with some fixes and tweaks. You can check some of ns2hds vids (such as 297), if you want to see what i mean.
you could easily mod it to give you a constant in the bottom left if you so wish tho.

ah right, they redid the waypoint system. a quick fix would be to just remove the functionality to see waypoints on the minimap (as it is clearly erroring), but we dont want to do that do we?
I just had an idea, the points those lazors we got now for pathfinding use, could be used for drawing lines on the minimap. I just need the time to actually implement it... :P
I did try to mess with minimap on while alive in the beginning when I made this, I just didnt like it. felt like it obstructed to much of the view, even if it was transparent. And if I made it small enough to not be disturbing me, the minimap was useless. I did try to make it zoom and center on the player, but that was getting annoyingly complex to do. had to find a way to clip the texture, move it, rotate it and compensate every other objects size and position. nothing to hard, but just didnt feel worth it for a feature that felt like it was more in the way to be honest. That might however be because I suck at designing graphics, so I placed it badly at the top right corner, which made the screen wierd with small hud icons everywhere (health, ammo and map) but the top left corner.

Just wonder, isnt the health always visible? Just bugs sometimes to hide until your health changes again.
How can I install mod in nfs2 ?
thanks ;)
