Scaling cyst-features with lifetime

So we already know the infestation isn't going to be attacked directly, that the cyst will alway be the target.

My idea:
Make the health of the cyst scale up with his lifetime, so it gets more health the longer it's build.
This would mean that the infestation near the starting hive is harder to destroy then recently created infestation.

Another idea:
Make it so that the range of infestation created by the cyst is also scaled with his lifetime. (i'm not talking about the "connection vines", only the radius of infestation around the cyst.)

These 2 ideas together will create more and stronger infestation the closer to the alien base you go.
-> Less easy for marines to kill an important node at the base of the network
--> More infestation in the alien base (who wouldn't want that? :) )

Maybe also let the cysts model scale up according to it's radius, but i'm not really sure this is attractive/possible/necessary.

its a good idea, currently if you kill a cyst close to a hive it can be fatal.
with your system the result would be:
the closer to hive, the more danger (well, alien respawn is there) and the harder it would be to
take down a cyst. but the reward is higher

mature cysts could also release spores when shot

I think the (presumably) planned approach of having infestation grow on its own would solve this better, that way all cysts work the same, but older infestation would have more of them. If a hallway has grown multiple cyst paths across the ceiling and walls it is much harder to clear it out.
