A couple of ideas for Marine kit

The first suggestion is the ability to buy a gas mask from the armory so that the lerks gas clouds effect are minimized / neutralized. This would be a stop gap solution meant to help marines untill Heavy armor is researched (someone already posted this idea)

Secondly, another type of ARC. Have this one armed with 2 mini guns so that it can act as a sort of mobile defense platform, thus giving infantry teams time to construct infrastructure.
like an ARC it would have a movement and deployment mode......but not be dependent of a power node

I don't like the gasmask. takes away too much of the lerks purpose, and its not that bad, so one could simply run through and kill/chase away the lerk and heal, or get healed by a medpack.

and regarding minigun arcs. I feel it makes the game a bit imbalanced if you can have AI-controlled and mobile attackers that damages players. also we already have turrets if you want to get some basic protection. they build really fast with 2 marines on em.

I agree with Taxen, as it stands (build 179), without their spore attack Lerks would be weak snipers - that fly.

I think I read somewhere that whilst using the exo-suit and dual mini-guns you may have to go into a 'lockdown' mode to use both guns simultaneously, this involves planting your legs down and so you can't move around until you exit lockdown mode. I don't know how much truth there is to this but presuming it is true...

I was thinking that since your view/mouse look is locked to one position it would be awesome if you could use two mice(mouses?), each controlling one gun. It would be a real skill to master and make you think more tactically about your 'lockdown placement'. So you could be taking on incoming skulks with one gun whilst blasting the hive with another. Is it even possible to use two mice?

Anyway, just an idea I had and wanted to see what ppl thought if it

As I said in the other thread, gas masks could be added if there are more reasons to use it, and it provides some other added utility. It shouldn't be a sole hard counter to spore gas.

And your second ARC idea does sound very similar to the exo suit, so we should probably wait for that first.
